- Chambers County Taiko -
Japanese Festival Drumming in Alabama!

Performing at Japan Fest in Atlanta

Welcome to the home of the Chambers County Taiko Group.

CCT is a relatively new performing Taiko group. We are a recreational, fun-loving group that loves to play the big drums and show off in public. Our goal is to have fun and make great friends.

We are located in East Central Alabama, in the city of Lanett. It is about 30 miles up I-85 from the city of Auburn, home of Auburn University. We have our own "Dojo", or school, where we hold classes several days a week.

We are three years old (as of 2009) and have learned a lot and had the honor of playing at some great events. We have performed at "Japan Fest" in Atlanta (and will again!), the "Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Arts at Auburn University ", the "AUSAM-Con" at Auburn University and several local schools.

CCT was started by Sensei Greg Clark soon after he and his wife, Kati, moved to "The Valley" from San Francisco. Sensei Clark had been playing and teaching Taiko in the San Francisco Bay Area for ten years prior to moving. In addition to teaching, he was quite active in making the big drums that are the heart and spirit of Taiko. As a result, all of the drums used by the group are made by group members.

If you are interested in Taiko and live nearby, please contact us.

CCT also has periodic beginning classes, please email Sensei Greg Clark at gclark@taiko.us for information on upcoming classes.
